"I’m Dan! I am an Analytics and Business Intelligence Manager with over 10 years of experience in industry. I bring diverse industry knowledge across manufacturing, quality, and supply chain. I’ve led multiple projects using Power BI, Excel, Access, SQL, Visual Basic, and PowerShell. I recently earned the Project Management Professional certification as well as the IBM Data Science Professional certificate.

I am passionate about education and continuous learning which led me to become a tutor. I have a long track record of helping students develop information technology and business skills. During my time at Oregon State University I tutored younger students as a part of the Beta Alpha Psi club as well as tutoring middle school students on business skills as part of the Junior Achievement organization. Also, I recently completed a term on the Oregon State Business Analytics Advisory council where I advised students as a project evaluator, in addition to Freshmen Meet Ups where I would meet with freshmen to provide guidance on how to capitalize on college resources and the transition to industry.

My approach to teaching and tutoring is to listen to students and mentees and understand their point of view and background. I want to understand where they are at on their learning journey and what learning style they need to succeed. Learning is a lifelong process so it is critical to approach it in a way that allows students to not only master their subject but also enjoy learning so they can continue to build their skills for the long term.
