My goal as a tutor is not just to teach you just enough to let you pass that next exam. I work with my students so that they not only know the material that we are covering, but also so that they understand the meaning of the material, the background behind it, and how to apply it in the real world. This allows for my students to handle those really difficult problems where they have to not just recite what was learned, but use it in a new way. The greatest thing I hear from my students after tutoring them, is when then tell me that they now understand the material and that they will not need any more help, since that means that I have truly done my job and they are ready to move forward on their own.

As a WyzAnt tutor, I have helped both high school and college students from schools in the Los Angeles area. Students I have worked with have come from USC, UCLA, LMU, Santa Monica City College, El Camino College, CSU Northridge, CSU Los Angeles, University of Phoenix, and others. I have helped students to maintain and A, to improve after getting a low score on a midterm, or just prepare before starting a class in the coming term. Regardless, I work with that student to be the best that they can be, which is usually much better than they even thought they could do on their own.
