"I recently received my Mechanical Engineering Degree in 2022, and my CBEST certification which is the California Basic Education Skills Test. It is the standardized test required for a teaching credential. I have 5 years of working tutor experience at the high school level while employed at the Redlands Unified School District, as well as many years doing private tutoring.
My teaching style involves visual explanation of the material that I am teaching as well as providing context as to how this information can be useful and applied. My goal is to explain topics as simply and as thoroughly as possible. This combination of giving a simple breakdown of the information as well as context to its application and what it means has been incredibly successful in students understanding and remembering it. It is important to me that a student can understand the overall concept of a topic rather than memorizing a sequence of steps. When I have private tutoring sessions I try to create an interactive engaging experience that involves regular feedback from the student. I find that this tends to have better results of students retaining the information rather than a lecture or simply solving endless examples.
I have been successful in assisting students ranging from middle school to college level. There is something extremely rewarding about aiding students who are in need of help. I enjoy seeing the joy when a student can finally grasp a difficult concept for the first time and everything starts make sense. Through my experience being a high school tutor and an undergrad myself, I have developed a sense of how to explain topics in these subjects with clarity. Basically, I remember what it was like to learn this stuff for the first time and understand the frustrations it sometimes causes. Allow me to give you the aid you need and let's make learning this simple!" less...
