"Hi! I have been working with students in the area of math for over 20 years in both classrooms and one-on-one instruction. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring because I am able to see the progress my students are making each time we meet and celebrate their successes. My background includes teaching high school and middle school math in the Florida and Missouri Public School Systems for over 14 years. I am certified in grades 6-12 and have experience teaching the following courses in middle and high schools: Basic Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry.

Another passion of mine is volunteering my time in various after school programs. I have volunteered in the Lee County Take Stock in Children Program by mentoring high school students that are applying for a free scholarship program. I have also participated as a tutor for middle/high school students in New Horizon’s After School Program in Bonita Springs, and have been involved in the Big Brother Program for years.

My experience prior to teaching is in the Information Systems area where I worked for a major corporation for over 25 years. This experience in the business world allows me to use real world applications for the math that I teach and enables me to make math more interesting to students.

I pride myself in my ability to keep students engaged in math, and in getting students to really feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. My past students will vouch for me on this!
