"Hi everyone! My name is Brittany and I absolutely LOVE chemistry! I am in my fifth year teaching. I graduated from Lynchburg College in 2014 with a BA in chemistry and a minor in secondary education. I've taught at the same school in Campbell County for all five years, and I taught 7th grade physical science only my first year and teach both physical science and high school chemistry since then. I became a chemistry teacher because I love helping students realize that chemistry is not as intimidating as it sounds or as it is portrayed by many, and I also want students to see that chemistry is not only for boring old people, but also for young (somewhat) cool people too!

I began tutoring in 2015 and have had multiple students who had dramatic improvements in their grades and who have all passed their chemistry SOL at the end of the year. In my first year teaching chemistry, I achieved a 100% student pass rate on the SOL, in my second year a 96%, and in my fourth year a 97%. I am a very positive, happy, and helpful person and I have interesting and memorable ways to help students learn material and remember it for a long time, not just for a test. I have extensive knowledge of chemistry and physical science due to my major in chemistry in college. I am able to make difficult concepts more easy to understand by using words that students are more familiar with. I have short-cut ways of learning many concepts which allow students to learn processes rather than to memorize information.
