"I am Daniel! I graduated with honors from Clemson University (Go Tigers!) with a dual degree in both Electrical and Computer Engineering. In college I learned a lot through trial and error. It was so difficult finding someone who was knowledgeable enough to help me. I eventually ran into one tutor who was the absolute best. I learned so much from him and when he left he suggested that I become that him for others. I began helping as many people as I could. I enjoyed seeing individuals finally understand.
I became a tutor and have about 2 years of formal tutoring experience in Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and Elementary Math, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and computer programming concepts with my specialty in C. As a dual engineer major these were all very strong points for me.
Prior to tutoring I was a mentor at Clemson for about 3 years where I assisted my mentees with schoolwork as well as helping them navigate through college.
I am currently employed and working in Cyber Security where I actively use Linux, Java, Ruby, Python, JavaScript as well as a ton of other languages I am learning everyday. Even as a tutor I admit I do not know it all but I enjoy learning and will do my best to educate on any topics I am not familiar with.
My approach to tutoring consists of getting an understanding of what you know and what we need to focus on. From there I like to work some problems together walking through the concepts. I feel it is better to understand how and why the problem is done the way it is vs. trying to remember the problem. Once we are comfortable doing them together I like for you to do it by yourself and then review it together, going over any issues you may have run into and reinforcing what we went over. I feel repetition is a good way to practice and understand concepts. The more problems you do the more comfortable you are.
