"Hi! My name is Julia and I am a current undergraduate student at Columbia University pursuing a B.A. in English. I love to read and write and have immensely enjoyed teaching other students how to succeed in the humanities: in both the classroom and on standardized tests. Having attended a private middle school in Connecticut and an independent boarding school in Massachusetts for high school, I am very familiar with the demands of high-expectation academic environments. I want to help students excel so they can achieve their full academic potential.

I scored a 35 on both the English and Reading sections of the ACT and have been successful in helping students strategize in order to achieve their best results possible. Beyond standardized tests, I also have experience with helping students write college, high school, and middle school level English and humanities essays. Sometimes writing an essay can seem like a daunting task. With a little guidance, however, I think every student is capable of writing clear, thoughtful, and well-organized essays. In addition to ACT English and Reading, grammar, literature, and proofreading I have also studied Latin for over six years and would be available to provide tutoring in basic Latin grammar and construction.
