I know that Accounting scares people; in fact, my first Accounting class scared me! But, I had a great teacher who made the class fun and interesting. She related the course concepts to real world examples. I was surprised at how Accounting affects my everyday life and how understanding Accounting concepts helps business professionals from entry-level employees to senior managers or even those who want to start their own business. When I teach Accounting, I try to incorporate many of the same things that worked for me when I was an Accounting student. I use language that is easy to understand, and I use practical examples to reinforce Accounting concepts. I do this by spending time teaching Accounting concepts so that students can see how they can solve the problems on their own.
