"Hi, my name is Jim and I am a master level teacher, meaning I have earned a master's degree in Elementary Education from the University of New Mexico. I have 31 years of classroom experience, teaching both adolescents and adults.

I enjoy helping students of all ages and learning levels develop a better understanding of their assignments and classes and I strive to see them become better learners and individuals. I taught elementary school for five years, teaching a 4/5 grade classroom, then I taught math for a year to sixth grade students. I then moved onto teaching GED classes for 15 years to men in an incarcerated setting, where I helped over 300 men earn thier GED! I now tutor online with Wyzant, having the privilege of instructing students online from my home.

I am a voracious reader and writer and I have a proofreading and tutorial business named Write It Right! where I help individuals correct spelling and grammatical errors on their menus, websites and other written documents. I am fully capable of helping students' study for and successfully pass the CBEST and GED exam. I especially enjoy working with ESL students write their essays into academically correct English.
