At the University of Texas at Austin I taught all levels of Spanish and Portuguese for over twelve years and am fluent in both languages. As a part of my PhD work at UT, Austin, I lived and worked in Brazil. In Colorado, I have also taught English as a Second Language (ESL) and TOEFL test prep for college- and graduate-level students seeking to enter US universities. As an ESL teacher, I have had the great pleasure of working with students from Saudi Arabia, Korea, China, Mexico, Vietnam, Indonesia, Brazil, and other parts of South America and Asia. I am a published writer and particularly love teaching and tutoring writing to both ESL students and native speakers of English.
