"I began tutoring while in college. During my freshman year, I took a class on tutoring - this class was a prerequisite to tutoring at the school's Writing Center. I worked for the Writing Center for three years, working between seven and 11 hours a week. I tutored people ages 13-65!

Since graduating in 2018, however, I have been doing freelance tutoring for K-12 students. During the summer of 2018, I ran a "book club" for three 11-year-old girls, using their love of reading to improve their writing. I spent the 2018-2019 school year tutoring an 8th grade boy in English/Writing. Right now (2020-2021 school year), I spend several hours a day tutoring/supervising 3 siblings with their online school work.

I have been excelling at English and writing since I was a child. I have always received top-notch grades in English and Writing classes. In college, I took a class called "Teaching Writing" and then spent the next three years tutoring college students in Writing. I would spend 7-11 hours a week helping college students with writing assignments across the disciplines, and at all stages of the writing process. Since 2018, I have tutoring K-12 students in a freelance capacity, and so far have always created some of my own curriculum for these students. I designed a book club that incorporated writing and art assignments to improve the writing skills of those participating. I spent a year with a student who usually did not have too much English homework, so I brought my own worksheets, activities, and games to help him improve his writing. His grade in English improved during the year I worked with him.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from an accredited university (Mary Baldwin University). I received an A or A- in every single Criminal Justice related class that I took, and received an award for this my senior year (Criminal Justice Excellence Award). I wrote a 25 page thesis on restorative justice methods being used with violent juvenile offenders. I received honors for this thesis and presen" less...
