"Before I became an educator,I began working nightly with one of my children who had developmental delays. With the effort that my own child and I put into working at home, my child was able to exceed his potential and has become a successful adult. With that being said, I am now a NYS certified Special Education Teacher. I have years of experience working individually with students and I have experienced many tricks of the trade in which to engage students. My belief is similar to that of this Buddhist proverb: "If the seed of lettuce does not grow, we do not blame the lettuce. Instead, the fault lies with us for not having nourished the seed properly."
