"For as long as I can remember, I have been curious about nature and people. I am in my senior year for a Bachelor of Science program in Environmental, Geographical, and Geological Sciences, with emphasis in Geography. During the past 3 years, I have been named on the Dean's List, and in the Fall 2014 semester I will became a member of Gamma Theta Upsilon, the National Honor Society in Geography. My hope in becoming a tutor is that I may be able to share my love of learning with others, so they too can develop an appreciation for the world and all the people who have called it home.

I focus on Earth Science, Technical Writing, Geography, and Anthropology for all grade levels. It is important for students to ask questions and truly understand material, which is why my goal is for students to comprehend concepts instead of relying on brute memorization. At the end of a session, a comprehension exercise on the material discussed will be given and then will be reviewed at the beginning of the next session.

It is important to me that students are confident after a session, which is why I ask for feedback. This allows me to adapt and provide a better learning experience.

All sessions will be held at the local library or remotely via Skype. Skype is a free online instant messaging software that utilizes face-to-face video calls, voice calls, or typed messages. By using this technology, sessions are more flexible and can be held at almost anytime of the day at any location with an internet connection.
