"I am honest and direct, but very patient in my teaching style. Rates: ****please read past the rate section. I am willing to tutor via free video-conferencing software (Skype, Hangouts, Facetime, etc.) for $35/hr In person tutoring costs depends on location. If local, $40, increasing in price relative to distance. Willing to discuss special rates for longer projects and special exceptions (case-by-case basis). LIkewise, clients are encouraged to give me feedback and criticism. As a tutor, I am also learning and growing, and so feedback is very much appreciated, even if it's contructive criticism. I have worked with students with various disabilities, such as ADHD and anxiety disorders, and provide a safe and nonthreatening atmosphere for clients. I am very empathetic to these conditions as I have known people personally to struggle with these issues, I make an effort to customize my tutoring to the needs of student, rather trying to impose learning upon them. Tutees need to validated to gain confidence, and I believe gaining confidence can lead to mastery of a subject, just like subject-mastery can lead to confidence-building. I am not interested in providing rote teaching and memorization because I don't think that is in the student's best interest. However, some material does require memorizing facts and figures, and that is sometimes part of the job. However, that should not be the focus of a session; otherwise, there is no learning taking place. Resume upon request." less...
