I recently earned a Masterís degree in Economic Policy from the University College London (UCL) (ranked #1 by the UKís Research Excellence Framework and #16 globally for economics and econometrics), focusing on health economics, time series econometrics, macroeconomic policy, and applied public policy analysis. At UCL, I wrote a dissertation examining the labor market effects of U.S. mental health policy and received honors from UCLís economics department for my academic achievements. Before graduate school, I worked at an international affairs management consulting firm, as a lead research analyst for the Washington State Employment Security Departmentís Labor Market Economic Analysis unit, and as an assistant economist at the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). I was also elected President of the Seattle Economics Council in 2014/15. I completed my undergraduate studies at Willamette University, where I earned a B.A. in economics with honors, along with a minor in Spanish. At Willamette, I wrote an honors thesis investigating the impact of President Barack Obamaís 2008 campaign tax plan, studied abroad in Seville, Spain, and graduated cum laude (top 12%). I was also a pitcher for the Willamette University Baseball Team and an alto saxophonist in the University Jazz Ensemble. As an undergraduate, I tutored freshman and sophomore students in their introductory economics courses and, while studying in Spain, tutored local elementary school students from underprivileged backgrounds in their English studies.
