"For the past two years I have been a tutor and mentor for at risk students through a non profit organization, City Year San Antonio. I have worked with students from grades K-6, primarily in 5th grade ELA and math and 6th-grade math. In my tutoring sessions I use research-based materials from Johns Hopkins, "think-alouds," KWL charts, fryer models, and many other strategies.

I am currently in the process of studying to be a teacher through the Teach for America program. I graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a degree in Education, Early Childhood through 6th grade, with some experience in ESL.
