For eight years I’ve been living and working in Chile, where I teach English to Spanish speaking students of all ages. Since becoming a certified ESL teacher in 2010, my teaching experience has been varied, ranging from beginner to advanced levels. No matter the level, my classes are always personalized and organized for you to be able to absorb new information in a way that is both effective and fun.

I’ve worked with lower levels to build a foundation in areas such as grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening and speaking. I’ve also helped those studying at an advanced level to fine-tune their English skills in areas such as pronunciation, fluency and conversation. I’ve also supported university students and professionals, working with them to prepare for presentations, meetings, email correspondence, interviews and English proficiency exams such as the TOEFL.

I’m a patient and engaging teacher, and connecting with my students is a central component in my teaching philosophy and methodology. In my experience, having a positive relationship between teacher and student is key to finding success in the language learning process. My students tell me they feel comfortable and engaged in classes, and I have noticed how this sets them up for success because they are not afraid to make mistakes and learn from them.

My classes are taught in English, however I can communicate in Spanish with those who speak Spanish and are beginners to the English language.
