"I would like the opportunity to tutor your child so that they can become successful in elementary math, reading, science, and/or technology. I have an bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (1-6) from Florida Atlantic University and a master's degree in reading from Nova Southeastern University (K - 12). Every summer I work specifically with lower performing 3rd grade reading students in the district's SRA program to help them become promoted to the 4th grade. This valuable experience has helped me to understand the struggles that students encounter and find ways to help them become more encouraged and successful in school now and in their future years. Every year I hear from parents of former students about the values and experiences I have instilled in their children.

I have been teaching in Palm Beach County for 32 years and it is my goal that each student feel successful in their learning. Since I do teach in Palm Beach County, I am extremely familiar with the difficulties that students are having with Common Core and the preparation for the new FSA test. I received the "William T. Dwyer" award in elementary education in 2009, and the "I Make A Difference" award in 2008. I believe that I was chosen for these awards because of my ability to connect with students of all ages, help them feel good about themselves, their potential, and become successful.

In 2014 I was selected by the NSTA Awards and Recognitions Committee as the only elementary teacher in the nation to receive the 2014 PASCO STEM Educator Award. I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to travel to Boston to present at the NSTA's National Conference and share the unique ways that I inspire students to be successful in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. This past year Apple Computer chose me as an Apple Distinguished Educator and attend the Apple Distinguished Educator Institute in Miami for five days. Thousands of applicants applied from the U.S., Canada, and South America and only 130 were chosen for this honor.
