"I recieved my BA degree at the age of 52 from Metropolitan State College of Denver in 2002. I graduated with an earned GPA of 3.91, cum laude. In 2004 I began work on my masters in education. Before attending college to earn my two degrees I worked in the building trades, lumber yards, and driving delivery trucks. In addition I was employed by two large nonprofit organizations where I wrote newsletters, business letters, wrote and edited magazine articles and collaborated in writing three books. I also worked as a reporter for a community newspaper, wrote for and edited a monthly magazine published by Colorado AFT. My wife and I have four wonderful sons, who are now productive in the marketplace and have families of their own. In 2004 I began work on an Masters in Education graduating with an earned GPA of 3.91.

Beginning in 2003 I began teaching English language arts, creative writing, journalism and yearbook at Elizabeth High School in Elizabeth, CO. After working at EHS for five years my wife and I moved to Michigan to be closer to our children. I taught ninth grade ELA at Dream Academy in Benton Harbor, MI from August 2008 to 2009. My wife inherited a ranch in Rocksprings, TX, therefore we moved to Rocksprings in 2009 where I secured a teaching position at Rocksprings Independent School District where I am still employed. I currently hold valid teaching certificates in Michigan and Texas.

Among my considerable skills learned over the years are MS Word, MS PowerPoint, curriculum development (crafting a remedial course in English language arts for which I also wrote the curriculum and the scope and sequence} education technology, educational media including creating podcasts, online lessons for my students published on websites that I designed, print layout skills using PhotoShop for annuals and other desktop publishing software.
