I am a native French speaker from West Africa looking to teach and help young students or adults improve their French. I am also an elementary teacher with a lot of experience teaching children from grades K to 5 in Math, Reading, Writing, English and French. Moreover, I enjoy setting up French conversation classes with older students to help them practice and build stronger oral language skills. I believe that my role as an educator is to provide my students with the necessary tools to learn, reach their full potential and become productive members of our society. I think that it is very important for my young students to learn how to be responsible, respectful to other, and knowledgeable about the world through academic, culture and languages learning. I think that students have various ways of learning as Garder states in his multiple intelligences theory. Children can be rhythmic, kinesthetic, logical, linguistic, spatial, intrapersonal, interpersonal, or natural learners. Because the different learning styles, I believe in the integration of art into my lesson plan.

Moreover, because I am from Africa and I have been exposed to a lot of different cultures and people of varying ethnic backgrounds. I enjoy building my lessons on diversity and culture, especially for my adult French conversations. For my young students, we often do research on each other's counties, states, or continent to learn about the culture and understand each other better. For instance, I may ask my students to make a playlist of musics from the South of France, select their favorite Fable from Jean de la Fontaine, read a passage from "Le petite Prince", or even join me in the kitchen and cook some Croc Monsieur. I want them to develop a sense of curiosity when it comes down to others' culture, because in the workplace they will encounter people from different background.
