"Hello! I am excited to meet you. I have spent many years teaching in informal settings. During my time at the Nature Center I co-taught many classes and camps including taxidermy, pond life, and owls (with a live owl). I developed a class on bats. I spent many years at the Science Museum presenting classes and programs.

When I am tutoring I feel that I am giving my students the opportunity to co-create their learning. I love learning, and I love sharing that love of learning. I love seeing the students light up when they figure out the answers. It makes me so happy when one of my students achieve or reach their goals. That excitement and pride makes them shine. I love to see that spark.

I have a background in Science. My minor was in Biology. I spent over 19 years at Science Museum presenting programs in different galleries, at summer camps, and camp-ins. I have had to write some of my own lessons and adapt others to older and younger children. I would use questions that children and adults ask to guide the presentation of programs. I spent 25 hours working at a nature based preschool and the over six months at a Nature Center where we did nature based learning.

I am working on getting a TEFL certificate. I use stories, miming, movement to introduce vocabulary. I use pictures and word searches.

I use games that I have made up. An example is Man Overboard. It is a version of hangman. I also use stories and pictures. We use internet as a resource. We will be silly and sing songs that will help us remember how the word is spelt.
