"My academic training was in engineering: I received my master's and doctoral degrees in metallurgy and materials science from Columbia University, and my bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. In graduate school I worked for several years as a teaching assistant, which included some lecturing, grading, and tutoring.

After graduating, I worked as an engineer and accrued more than 20 years of experience in various segments of the technology industry, including aerospace, consumer electronics, and electrical and electronic manufacturing. I am qualified to teach physical science and basic engineering science courses, such as general chemistry and physics, as well as basic mathematics.
