"After attending Randolph High School, I received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude and studied Calculus I-III, General Physics I & II, and several other advanced courses in mathematics and engineering mechanics. I started my tutoring career during college, helping classmates and younger students, and since then I've helped students of all ages and abilities develop the skills and confidence to improve their grades and test scores.

I scored in the 97th percentile on the SAT Math section and in the 98th percentile on the SAT Verbal section (in addition to a 790 out of 800 on the GRE Quantitative Section, prior to the 2011 test revision). While test scores alone are no indication of one's tutoring abilities, I think these scores are evidence that I am well-rounded (not just a math person), making it easier for me to connect with a variety of students. And while math is my strong suit and my favorite subject to teach, it is certainly not my only skill or interest. I worked for a Fortune Global 500 consulting firm for six years, primarily with professional sports league clients. I've traveled to 19 countries in nearly two years abroad and worked in Chile and Colombia, developing basic Spanish language skills. I also enjoy surfing, snowboarding, hiking, cycling, and recording and editing my own guitar music.

Critical to my success at Boston University, where I finished with a 3.83/4.00 GPA, was a thorough understanding of calculus, physics, and the essential concepts taught in geometry, trigonometry, and algebra. I understand that a strong foundation leads to greater confidence, and I enjoy the challenge of making the material accessible to a variety of students and skill levels, whether helping with the basics or advanced problem solving applications. I help students prioritize their efforts both during and outside of our sessions, ensuring that each student is practicing the most pertinent material given his or her unique situation.
