"I recently graduated with my Master's in Teaching HS English and completed my student teaching with 11-12th graders this past spring. Unfortunately, I haven't obtained a teaching position yet, but I wanted to explore other methods of sharing my subject-matter expertise with students. I have experience with grammar, usage, mechanics, reading, composition, ACT prep, etc. I have experience with all different kinds of learners and I like to tailor my methods to each student's unique needs. I have a pretty laid-back personality, but I have high expectations for students because they all have the potential to succeed. As a self-proclaimed "life-long learner," I believe it is the responsibility of teachers (and tutors) to help students learn to learn--I don't want to cram students' heads with facts and repetition.
