"I am a retired teacher in the state of Nevada. I taught in Washoe County. I am an English major and have minors in Computers, Health and Physical Education. I also studied Spanish.

I have two sons. One is a Computer Science Engineer, and the other just graduated from Cornell University.

My main goal as a teacher, and a mom, is to get students to learn the content/material. I focus on the student and how the student learns. I am flexible and will create individual lessons that work for the learner.

I love teaching writing. That is my forte. I am a high-level reader. I love the Health field and studying subjects like Anatomy and Nutrition, and I have also taught these subjects, as well as Computer Applications. I teach a variety of computer programs and applications including, Excel, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, web design and document formatting. I also taught these subjects in the Washoe County School District.

I know a variety of study skills and can get students organized, which I feel is imperative for student success. I work well with all-levels of students. I worked in the Special Ed main office when I taught Adaptive PE in Carson City. I learned a lot about working with students with different needs.

I treat all my students as individuals and feel Individual Lesson Plans work for all learners, no matter their level. My sons are categorized Gifted Learners. These students also need their own plan. I am half Spanish and enjoy the culture. I also think that it is important to know different languages, and I love helping students learn English both as their first, or second-language. I love working with students from other cultures, and I feel that the more one can communicate with others the better.
