"During the 23-year span of my teaching career, I have experienced a comprehensive history of interaction with nearly every country of the world. Additionally, my teaching experience has progressed from teaching the primary and secondary levels to the tertiary level. At the tertiary level, there was a culmination of more comprehensive job functions which included one-on-one counseling of adult students. I have also broadened my insight into priorities in teaching English as a grader of a highly ubiquitous exam.


I am confident that this diversified experience could prove to be instrumental for the position. To begin with, the position would likely require a need to adapt to a wide variety of roles as both a teacher and counselor for various student levels. I have a proven track record of working in classrooms where students come from a variety of levels. There was once a seven-year period where I managed 50-student classes with highly diversified levels. I learned to adapt to this challenging situation by placing students into groups where they could effectively cross-train each other with a curriculum focused on communicative learning techniques. More recently, while working for the United States Air Force as an ESL instructor, I had the opportunity to expand my teaching background in terms of the variety of nationalities whom I taught. Furthermore, my most recent experience as a rater has shown me how to avoid bias while grading university candidates.


In the capacity of working as a counselor, I continually consulted with students after class to discuss various challenges they faced. While teaching ESL at Lackland AFB, there were a variety of students coming from war torn countries who were deeply scarred emotionally.
