"I have been tutoring for 23 years, primarily for ACT and SAT test preparation in English, Reading, and essay writing. For the first five years, I tutored with The Princeton Review. I then became an independent tutor when I needed more flexible hours and scheduling.

Reading and English have always been prominent in my life. In addition to being an avid lifelong reader, I majored in journalism at Bowling Green State University and spent several years after graduation writing for various magazines and newspapers. I then returned to school to get my teaching certificate in elementary education. For two years after receiving my certification, I taught essay and creative writing to fifth and sixth graders.

A move to a different state prompted me to return to writing, and I worked as a technical writer in the software industry for several years. I then worked part time at a local public library for 12 years. In 2016, I received my Master's in Library and Information Sciences from Kent State University. I now work full time at a local public library as an Adult Services specialist.

Students who work with me normally increase their ACT scores between three and five points. I use a methodical, step-by-step process that helps students, especially those who don't like to read, break down grammar and reading passages in an easy-to-understand way, which allows them to better identify main ideas, look for relationships between questions, and quickly find relevant information.
