"Hello! Biology can be a challenging and intimidating subject at times. Through my experience, I have learned some tips and tricks along the way to make it accessible to all. The best way to enhance understanding is to make the broad connections. Seeing the units connected holistically and the interplay between systems is the essential to grasping abstract concepts and is the key to success.

Since 2015, I have been teaching AP Biology, IB Biology HL, and IB Biology SL. My IB Biology diplomas students have a 100% pass rate. My AP pass rate is always above the national and state average. I also teach biology at the college level.

In the IB world, I am an IB workshop leader where I train other teachers. Additionally, I am a textbook author and have written and edited books for the new curriculum for 2 major IB textbook companies. In the AP world, I have been a grader for the AP exam free response sections.

I also help with IB Internal Assessments (IA) and Extended Essays (EE). I have successfully supported over 200 students!

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from UC Riverside where my focus was in Molecular Biology. I went on to receive my Master of Science in Biotechnology from UC Irvine where I focused on Molecular Biology with an emphasis in Immunology. My thesis research was on the development of antibody specificity and class switch recombination in B cells. I enjoyed my time doing research, but fell in love with being in the classroom where I could share my knowledge to help students achieve their goals. I received my California teaching credential at the secondary level in Biology and Chemistry.

I enjoying sharing my knowledge and helping students achieve at all levels. I firmly believe that having a solid foundation and good test taking skills will help you reach your goal. I have successfully tutored all of the above subjects since 2015.
