"I have been playing bass guitar for over 30 years. I've played in a number of working bands in the Richmond area and in my home state of Pennsylvania. I've been teaching bass for the last three years and have had several students ranging in age from 15 to 50. I primarily play and teach rock, but I am a fan of all types of music and have a broad range of styles and influences.

By day I am an engineer working as a construction project manager. I live in Midlothian and have a family with two small children. In my spare time I actively teach and play music.

I picked up the bass as a teenager some 30 years ago. It has been a lifelong passion for me. I've played hundreds and hundreds of songs with bands over the years in all styles of rock, blues, alternative, pop and country. I have knowledge of music theory and how it applies to popular music. I know that most students take lessons so that they can ultimately play songs. My style of teaching is to jump right into the songs and reverse engineer the learning, so that students can have fun playing right off the bat. In my experience notes, scales, chords, progressions and music theory all make more sense when they are learned within the context of a song.
