"As a college counselor, I've built my career around helping students discover their next steps. I'm an expert in college options and the college admissions process, and I stay knowledgeable about all the changes in the admissions landscape so I can help my students navigate the path to college.
In my meetings with students, I support them with all components of the college admissions process, including but not limited to discussing and identifying preferences and priorities, building a college list, conducting college research, exploring college majors, planning for financial aid, completing the activities resume, asking for teacher recommendations, writing brag sheets, sending materials, monitoring college admissions portals, writing waitlist/deferral letters, and planning the transition to college. When working with students on their essays, I guide them through brainstorming and give them regular feedback to push them to revise the essays to become insightful windows into the student's authentic inner life.
The best time for students to start working with me is late sophomore year or early junior year.
I am a professional member of the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA) and the National Association for College Admissions Counselors (NACAC). Members of these organizations commit to adhering to the ethical practices of college counseling as well as ongoing professional development, including regular college visits and interactions with admissions officers.
When my students press submit, they feel confident knowing they've chosen the right colleges and done everything they could to present their best selves on the applications." less...
