"I am an experienced teacher who has taught in the Philadelphia School District for 17 years. I resigned from the district last year to move to Kansas with my husband and 3 year old son. We live in Lawrence and love living here. I have my administrator certification and hope to get a position as an Elementary School principal within the next year.

Within my experience as a teacher, I tutored a 4th grader in Reading and a 2nd grader in Math. As teacher, I followed and implemented the core curriculum. I taught grades 1st through 6th within my 17 years of being an educator. I am familiar with teaching, what I would call "new math", which promotes critical thinking and problem solving on an ongoing basis. I understand the frustration that parents feel when they are exposed to the math curriculum in particular. I think I am qualified as a tutor specifically on elementary school level. I am willing and look forward to sharing my knowledge and skills with both the student and the parent in order to help the student to continue to excel.
