"My name is Kristen Dz. and I am a second grade English Language Arts Reading and Social Studies teacher. I am currently in my 17th year as a teacher. In those years I have taught kindergarten, PreK, elementary librarian and second grade. I graduated from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, AR in May 2004. I later pursued my Masters in Library Science and graduated in December 2012 from Texas A&M University in Commerce. I love teaching and I love helping kiddos be successful.

I am a single mom with a 10 and 12 year old. My daughter is 12 and my son is 10. We play basketball, football, baseball and may even pursue softball in the spring this year. I have a boyfriend who lives close to us. He loves my kids and has a great family as well. I am a christian and God comes first in everything I do or my kids and I do. I have a great family that has supported me more than I could have ever imagined.

I have taught for 17 years. Kindergarten and Prek mostly, but have tutored various grade levels over the course of my career.

I have my ESL certification and love to see students light up when things begin to make sense to them in a language they are not as comfortable with initially.

I have taught early childhood education for 17 years and been to numerous phonics trainings through my schools and the Education Service Centers in my area.
