"Hello, I am Margaret! I am passionate about helping students strengthen their communication skills and achieve their goals. I know it can be overwhelming and I aim to leave my students with the skills and confidence needed to continue to improve their writing. I have experience tutoring a wide range of students, and my diverse skill set allows me to adjust my teaching style based on individual needs. In the past, I have edited and contributed content to legal publications, worked as a corporate trainer in healthcare, and edited for contributors to Vogue Magazine and CQ Researcher. Two years ago, I joined an international residential program for high school students, where I discovered my passion for coaching young adults in language arts and the humanities. I found it very rewarding to help students meet rigorous academic standards in a second language.

Most students joined the program with high TOEFL scores, but with more work to do in order to master the nuances of a new language. The ability to understand and employ those subtleties with confidence made the difference between acceptable college essays, and exceptional essays that helped place them in highly selective universities. My students have gone on to receive national recognition through the prestigious Scholastic Art and Writing Awards competition and achieved perfect SAT subject matter scores, placing them at American University, the University of California, the University of Rochester, and the University of Edinburg.

I have years of experience proofreading and editing legislation, from the initial copy edit cycle to the final step of cold reading before publication. I also edit and critique content for articles, essays, and short fiction.
