"I taught in public and private schools for 10 years and at the college level for 10 years. I have been tutoring French and Spanish for over 25 years, including working with students at a local school district. I assessed students who were native speakers seeking college credit for life experience. I was a French item writer for the Proficiency (Checkpoint A) exam and Regents (Checkpoint B) exam in New York. I graded tests for students who wanted to be French or Spanish teachers or were seeking a bilingual extension to their current teaching license. I regularly attend foreign language conferences, at least annually, to keep up on the latest teaching methods to keep my skills fresh. Places visited include France, Switzerland, Quebec, Mexico, Honduras, Belize, and Puerto Rico. I spent 4 summers studying abroad, including Paris and Besançon, France in graduate school, and San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, México for my Spanish teaching licenses.

Currently, I teach modular, online French and Spanish courses to students from the elementary grades to adults, and tutor privately. I'm also volunteer teaching a French for Travelers course to a local church group.

I am now certified to teach French and Spanish, grades 1-6, in addition to holding French and Spanish, grades 7-12 certifications!

This fall, I am pursuing a Science of Reading microcredential from my alma mater. The new program was established with an endowment, to help increase literacy, a skill central to all learning.
