"I’m Margo. I am a retired high school biology teacher with 35 years teaching experience. During those years, I mainly taught all levels of biology; regular, Honors or accelerated, and Advanced Placement. I am also certified to each, and through the years have taught physiology, anatomy, biochemistry, molecular biology, and basic science. My Masters degree also enables me to teach psychology. I can honestly say that, aside from my family and friends, teaching was the love of my life. I always began my school year telling my students that as they explored career choices to always pick something that would become a life long love for them. That way, they would never consider it “work”. I equally loved both the subject matter as well as my students. I further told them that my job was not only to successfully teach them the subject matter at hand but also to teach them how to be successful in whatever subject they were studying. I always tried to offer them many and varied study skills to achieve success. I recognized that there are many Individual learning styles so I tried to incorporate different teaching styles. I also found it important to be fun in my instruction and to always incorporate the students.

When I retired I found that I greatly missed my students and continued to teach through tutoring. And I have now been tutoring for about ten years. The gambit of students seeking me out include students simply having a difficulty with the subject to advanced placement students wanting to score the highest on the AP exams. I have also tutored university students in biology as well. It gives me The great satisfaction to see their happiness when their grades greatly improved and they achieve an improved self confidence. I believe that I have the ability to understand the student’s strengths and weaknesses and work with both to achieve the best learning.
