"Teaching is something I've always been passionate about. I'm the kind of person that can teach the very basics of a subject repeatedly and still get excited when the ideas click in my students' heads. Over the years I've had the opportunity to teach different subjects in various capacities and roles. At the university level I have taught an undergraduate embedded electronics course and a course for incoming freshmen. I've also acted as mentor for various groups in areas of programming, electronics, and general making. This includes 3D printing and 3D model design, and I currently teach workshops several times each semester for electronics and programming with Arduino, Python and Raspberry Pi.

For my undergraduate degree I majored in Physics and have always loved Math and science. Lately I have been teaching my son some basic programming and algebra and we're both having a great time. I'm currently employed as a developer with a focus on network automation and I work mostly in Python and Javascript.

When it comes to Math, I find that the basics like Algebra, Geometry and even basic calculus can be simple. That's not meant as a brag. It's something that I believe everyone can understand. It's all in how you phrase and present a problem and I really enjoy figuring out the best way to pose those problems that get's it to click with a student. When teaching, I try to be observant and see what types of examples and descriptions make the most sense for a given student and lean on those to make the ideas more clear and obvious. Not everyone learns the same way and not everyone perceives a given problem the same so it's important to figure out what works best to get the ideas across.

More than anything I love teaching people about the inner workings of the technology in our everyday lives. I love showing that computers and electronics are not magic but are in no way less magical. Few things are more enjoyable than showing someone that they too can make something from a simple blinking light to a full blown home" less...
