"My experience in the classroom ranges from second through eighth grade. I have taught in Arizona, Mexico, South Africa, Germany, and Brazil. When I'm not teaching I like to play guitar, video games, read, and play with my son and dogs. With a BA in Elementary Education, an MEd in International Teaching, and an MEd in Educational Leadership, education is my passion.

My students always end up seeing the light go on. When in person, I like to give my students different strategies and manipulative to use in order to solve problems.

The reading and writing in my classroom is centered around student need. I prefer to use a balanced literacy and workshop approach to both.

Spelling was always an area in school that I enjoyed. I like to teach spelling using the approach of the Words Their Way program, focusing on a phonics based approach over wrote memorization.

Having been diagnosed with ADD as a young child, I learned study skills early on. I would love to share some of my tips and strategies.
