"I'm Anna! I recently earned my Master's in Library and Information Science from University of Washington (June 2022). Before then, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College at Florida Atlantic University in Summer 2018 with Bachelor's degrees in Cognitive Neuroscience and English Literature. I am interested in a wide variety of subjects, and have been allowed to explore the intersections and details between many subjects, which has given me a unique perspective. I like to apply the same approach to tutoring: using perspectives and ideas from any discipline to help students achieve the highest they can. I love helping people learn and understand new and complex ideas, and hope to inspire a passion for learning that my teachers instilled in me.
I was a Teaching Assistant for Honors Research Methods in Psychology in Fall 2017, which was an extremely rewarding experience. I helped students run their own Psychology research projects, from a literature search through presenting at a conference. I served as a Research Peer Mentor in the 2016-2017 school year, helping students through all the stages of research in various disciplines. I also have 2 years of biological research in laboratories and can provide real-world examples of several scientific ideas.
I was a tutor in English as a Second Language for a foreign exchange student for the Spring 2017 semester, where I taught him about several components of the English language: grammar, writing, and speaking. I also have 3 years of English literature research experience, and have many examples of types of writing and how to analyze it. I think it is vitally important to focus tutoring on what the student has the most difficult time understanding, in a way that will work best for that student. I am open to exploring various teaching methods and work one-on-one with students
I am easy to contact and will provide prompt responses to any inquires you may have. I look forward to hearing from you!" less...
