"I'm a graduate student at the University of Colorado pursuing an M.S. in Data Science. My undergraduate degree from Kalamazoo College was a double major in Math and Physics, with a minor in Studio art concentrating on pottery. At Kalamazoo College I T.A.'d for the physics department, which includes in class instruction of students, grading college level work, and oneonone tutoring outside of class hours. Additionally I have extensive teaching experience in ceramic art and individualized projects.
I love small groups or working oneonone with my students. Tutoring generally consists of either working through homework problems or supplemental instruction on the subject, as requested or as I deem beneficial to the student(s). I can and have tutored all levels of mathematics and physics.
In undergraduate, the mathematics courses I took were Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Calculus 3, Linear Algebra, Abstract Algebra I, Differential Equations, Probability, Mathematical Statistics, Complex/Vector Variables, Elementary Number Theory, Classical and Evolutionary Game Theory, and Data Science in R. I used all my high school math in these classes, so I'm fresh and current for tutoring those subjects as well. I am enthusiastic about math and try to get my students not only to understand their classes, but to enjoy the process of finding answers. Math is fun!
I took AP Physics C in High School, and in college I studied Electromagnetism 1 through 3, Electrical Engineering 1 and 2, Special Relativity, Classical Mechanics, Thermal Statics and Statistical Mechanics, and Quantum Mechanics. I've TA'd for the department in Electromagnetism and intro physics. With any physics instruction I try to teach my student process and arm their math tool belt so that they can do any problem we encounter with confidence.
