"I am Malcolm B. I am entering my 17th year in education and have worked as a tutor for each of those years. I served as a middle school science and math teacher for 11 years and I am in my 6th year as an assistant principal. My undergraduate degree is Psychology and I have a Master’s degree in Middle School Science and Math Education. I have a specialist in Educational Leadership and I am currently working on my doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction. I continue to tutor because I love to teach. I enjoy making connections with students, contributing to their academic growth and building their confidence.

Building confidence lessens the fear and anxiety students feel when attempting to solve mathematics problems. I work with students to develop their ability to break down complex problems into simple components that make them easier to solve. I am very patient with students as they work through their difficulties.
I have always enjoyed science. I enjoy working with students to understand concepts and I use real world examples to increase my students’ ability to retain the information. The ability to see science in their everyday lives allows students to make long-lasting connections to the material.
Although I have primarily worked in middle school I have tutored students from 1st grade though 11th grade. As a middle school educator I have the unique understanding of what concepts elementary students need to master to be successful in middle school and the foundation students need in middle school to be" less...
