"I am a certified math teacher with teaching experience in three countries: South Korea, Mexico, and the United States. I have extensive experience teaching Algebra I and II. In addition, I hold a state title in policy debate, and while my favorite debate style is Public Forum, I am able to coach any forensics event.
My undergraduate focus was in Math Education, and I hold a master’s degree in Curriculum Design. I am certified to teach grades 5–9 Math in the state of Tennessee, which includes up to Algebra I. While teaching in Tennessee, I achieved the second-highest teaching level and helped raise my school’s test scores by two levels.
Recently, I transitioned from classroom teaching into more of a training consultant role. However, my passion for education—and for helping students of all ages discover that they, too, can understand math—remains a top priority, which is why I continue to tutor.
I have been active in the debate community for over 10 years. During that time, I have qualified numerous students for the national tournament and coached teams that advanced to elimination rounds at the state tournament. One of my proudest accomplishments was coaching a novice team to a state title.
I am a very goal-oriented instructor. At the start of each tutoring session, I ask students to set a short-term or long-term goal that we can work toward together. I believe that goal-oriented instruction is the best way to track progress and stay motivated. My ultimate objective is to help you achieve your goals." less...
