"I have an M.S. in mathematics and am currently doing research in the Data Science field. I've been tutoring for over a decade.

As an undergraduate, I tutored for the NYU Math Department. After my sophomore year, I was tutoring students in all levels of undergraduate math. After I graduated I became an adjunct instructor for all types of math courses at NYU Tandon, the engineering school of NYU. I also held an administrative role at the Math Department where I wrote exams for most undergraduate courses.

I have also tutored several graduate level courses, mostly math courses, but also Machine Learning and Intro to Data Science. Because of my experience at Tandon, and as my research uses data science topics applied to sports, I am no stranger to how to use math in applied fields.

I believe that solidifying the fundamentals of the topic your are learning is the best way to improve. This also helps with confidence; I have seen math anxiety legitimately hurt the exam scores of otherwise exceptional students. Also, every student learns differently, so having a variety of teaching styles to adapt to the needs of the student is important.
