"Patrick D. is a multi-instrumentalist whose teaching method empowers students to discover their artistry through the vocabulary of theory, style, and musicianship. Shortly before beginning school at Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2002, Patrick began teaching private guitar lessons in his hometown of Wheaton, IL. Berklee enabled Patrick to develop as both a performer and educator; he continued to teach throughout college and eventually accepted a position as a guitar, bass, and ukulele instructor at Musical Expressions, a private studio in Naperville, IL. While at Musical Expressions, Patrick taught hundreds of students of all ages and levels--many of whom went on to become professional musicians and music educators. He also expanded the studio’s ensemble program, an initiative that taught students of all ages how to play and perform in bands. The ensembles allowed Patrick to combine his chief passions in life: teaching and performing.

Outside of lessons, Patrick can be found playing on the stages and in the venues of Chicagoland. He has performed and recorded with groups such as Chainsaw Dupont and the Blues Warriors, Harlan Flo, and The Lauren Wolf Band. His most notable performances include multiple appearances (including a headlining spot) at Chicago’s House of Blues, City Winery, Red Gorilla Music Festival, and annual spots at the Glenwood Avenue Arts Festival.
