"Previous students write that I am a patient and invested teacher. My tutoring style is verbal and visual. I won't just show you the "right way" to solve problems. I can teach you how to think about problem solving and help you learn what you actually need to succeed.

I currently work as a math and science editor for a prominent online STEM learning platform. My PhD is in physics, but I was a successful math major in college. I started tutoring when I was a junior undergraduate in 2003. I was a teaching assistant and private tutor throughout my time as a graduate student from 2005—2012. In 2010 I taught my first college course (calculus-based physics). From 2012—2015 I taught numerous college courses as a physics professor.

I am most comfortable tutoring math and physics at the college level: calculus, mechanics, electricity & magnetism, probability, differential equations, geometry, thermodynamics, quantum physics, relativity, statistics, data science, discrete math, and more. I also enjoy working with adult learners who are refreshing on rusty skills, and or up-skilling by working through online courses.

I am a professional writer and editor. I have taught college courses on critical reading and writing. I can help you develop the writing skills you need to succeed in technical professions. I provide feedback at any stage of the drafting process, including early big-picture ideation, structural planning, final grammatical fixes, and technical clarity edits." less...
