"I am a graduate of Abilene Christian University with a BA in History, but that's not all. I have some background in Education, Philosophy, Political Science, Literature, writing, reading, and just about anything else I could learn in college. I worked for the Alpha Scholars program at ACU. I was certified as a Level 2 Tutor through their Master Tutoring program. The program focused on peer to peer tutoring with an emphasis on student responsibility. The students that I worked with were students with learning disabilities or first generation college students.

The way that I tutor now is very similar. I try to tutor myself out of a job. I try to empower the student to be able to complete any of their assignments without much, if any, assistance from the tutor. I will work from wherever the student is at and help them get to where they need to be. I will work to help make the student responsible for their own learning and own education/tutoring experience. I am willing to work with a students teachers in order to understand their curriculum and understand what is expected by the teacher in order to help the student meet and exceed those goals.

I will also work with the parents to help develop a way to make sure that the students are meeting and exceeding goals set by myself and his/her teacher(s). I am open to any questions that you have for me and am willing to sit down with parents to discuss any and all issues that is determined to be important.
