"Hello! My name is Ellen and I have over 10 years of tutoring experience. I have a love for learning and have always enjoyed numerous subjects in school. In college I was invited to work as a peer tutor in the areas of math (remedial through Calculus), and English. Additionally, I tutored peers privately in courses I had taken in other disciplines. I use a variety of techniques and learning styles in my tutoring sessions and tailor them according to the needs and preferences of each student. I am willing to work with students of all ages, abilities and grade levels. I currently tutor math, science, and social science/history.

I have special interest in helping students overcome test anxiety and develop effective study skills. I also work with parents and other care takers to teach study skills so that these skills can be used effectively outside of tutoring sessions. I can create practice tests for you to increase your confidence in testing. I also enjoy working with students who have special needs including ADD/ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, hearing impairments and vision impairments. I have over 10 years of experience supporting needs of the developmentally and intellectually disabled.

I have continued to tutor over the years because I love to see the progress of my students. I love to see students have aha moments and achieve their goals.
