"I'm a certified speech-language pathologist with 7 years of experience working in school settings. I am passionate about working with students who struggle with language and literacy skills. Which led me to obtain a certification in Orton-Gillingham. In addition, I have experience with littles (0-3 years) regarding receptive and expressive language skills.

Most of my instruction consists of strategy-based learning, which allows for independence in tackling challenging areas of academics. I teach kids how to learn, not what to learn :)

I have training in Orton-Gillingham instruction and experience with other various decoding programs, such as Preventing Academic Failure, Wilson Reading System, and Words Their Way.

In my experience of working with students who have dyslexia, I have learned that they are some of the smartest and most creative people I've worked with. I have an understanding of how working memory relates to decoding and encoding skills, identify specific breakdowns, and modify instruction based on progress.
