"My name is Mark. I graduated cum laude with a B.S. degree in Mathematics at the University of Texas at Arlington. My love for Mathematics was fostered by dedicated teachers who invested their time and energy to provide an engaging learning experience. My calculus teacher ended up inspiring me to pursue Mathematics as a career path. The key factor which helped the learning process to be a rewarding experience was the teacher's positive demeanor, love, and energy for the field. My goal is to utilize my strong passion for Mathematics to facilitate a smooth learning experience and hopefully, inspire students to pursue Mathematics or actively utilize it in their chosen field of study.
While pursuing Mathematics, I was actively involved in a tutoring program on campus, which facilitated an interactive and engaging learning experience in an open area. During the two year journey to become a more effective tutor, I strengthened the ability to teach Mathematics from the student's perspective. I also treated tutoring as a learning process for both the student and I to deepen our understanding of key concepts. In the setting, I tutored Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, Differential Equations, Discrete Mathematics, and Probability/Statistics. I also actively participated in sessions to train student's for SAT, GRE, or ACT preparation. I am open to the student's perspective and learning style, which I believe is critical to ease the transition toward higher level Mathematics.
I am open to any suggestions and available resources to enhance the overall tutoring experience. I am flexible and willing to accommodate scheduling changes based on the student's need. Feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or to schedule a tutoring session!" less...
