"I have an MFA in nonfiction writing from Goucher College and a master's degree in Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School, where I studied Religion, Ethics, and Politics. I did my undergraduate work at Skidmore College, where I studied English and Religion. Lately I have tutored a pod of 5th graders in reading and social studies, and 7th graders with reading comprehension and SHSAT prep.

I have been a nanny in New York, and I love hanging out with children and teenagers. I understand how hard and frustrating writing and reading can be, and I want to make people feel like they can really engage with whatever they choose to read, and express clearly whatever they choose to write.

First of all, and most importantly, I love to read and write! Once you realize how fantastic it can be to really understand a book or essay the whole world can really open up. Expressing yourself through writing is one of the most important things to me, and I want everyone to have those skills. I understand that not everyone gets it immediately, and I am calm and understanding. Even for people who do find English easy, there are always aspects of any subject that can be challenging.

I have been in school for a long time now, and understand how demanding and stressful school can be!
