"Working with the Minnesota Literacy Council, I taught reading and speaking English to members of the Hmong community. Living and working in a business in Cairo, Egypt and as a late student in Vienna Austria, I coached small groups in speaking English. I was granted my degree in International Studies from Webster University in 1993, after spending 30 years in the publishing business for two major houses. I was appointed a member of the Board of International Education for one year prior to my move to Minnesota for a publisher position at the Hazelden Foundation in Center city. I also taught a course in starting a small business for Women Venture, a nonpofit organization supporting women business owners.

I took early retirement in 2000 and moved to Athens, Texas to care of my mom and stepdad when they both became ill at the same time. They are both gone now. I am a CASA volunteer, a Henderson County Master Gardener, and volunteer for The East Texas Arboretum. All involve learning and teaching of some workshops. While "teaching" or tutoring, I love seeing the happiness in the eyes of students or other participants, and I enjoy learning something new from them.

I have highly developed skills in English, Public Speaking, Vocabulary and Writing learned during my 30 year career in professional publishing.
